Wordpress settings for a static website
Set better permalinks
Settings > Permalinks
Change permalinks to /%postname% OR
/%category%/%postname%
Disable all comments
Settings > Discussion
Uncheck this option "Allow people to post comments on new articles"
Set the static homepage page and the blog page.
