Connect Daniel Day-Lewis and Julia Roberts

Connecting Daniel Day-Lewis and Julia Roberts.

Daniel Day Lewis was in Lincoln with Tommy Lee Jones.
Tommy Lee Jones was in The Fugitive with Harrison Ford.
Harrison Ford was in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade with Sean Connery.
Sean Connery was in First Knight with Richard Gere.
Richard Gere was in Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts.

This connection game could probably be solved in fewer than four connections, but I only know of about five movies that Daniel Day-Lewis stars in.

Let's try another version to get fewer steps.

Daniel Day-Lewis was in Gangs of New York with Leonardo Di Caprio.
Leonardo DiCaprio was in Django Unchained with Christoph Waltz
Christoph Waltz was in Inglorious Basterds with Mike Myers
Mike Myers was in Shrek 2 with Rupert Everett.
Rupert Everet was in My Best Friend's Wedding with Julia Roberts

Darn!  That was still four steps.

I think getting to Richard Gere or Cameron Diaz in fewer steps will make it better. The big problem here is that I have only seen a handfull of movies with Julia Roberts.

Daniel Day-Lewis was in Gangs of New York with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Leonardo DiCaprio was in Catch Me If You Can with Tom Hanks.
Tom Hanks was in Charlie Wilson's War with Julia Roberts.

Only two connections. Now I'm satisfied!

Six Degree of Kevin Bacon - Brad Pitt and Christian Slater

Six degrees of Kevin Bacon game from a restaurant the other night:

Connect Brad Pitt and Christian Slater

Brad Pitt starred in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford with:
Casey Affleck starred in Gone Baby Gone with:
Morgan Freeman starred in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with
Christian Slater

This a relatively easy example because both of these actors are over 40, so it only took two connections and three movies to connect the two.  Brad Pitt is 49 and Christian Slater is 43 and both have been in many big budget films.

Do you have a better answer, with fewer connections? Post it here!
