A litlte history for those of you interested in buying an older iPad: The very first generation iPad began selling in stores in April 2010. Six years later, we are now on the 6th iteration of the iPad, with the 7th on the way. The 2nd generation of the iPad, released in 2011 is the oldest iPad to support the current iOS version, 9.2.
The iPad Air 2 was released in October 2014. It was not released in a 64GB capacity, only 16, 64, and 128 GB.
