How to Save a Life with Continuous Chest Compression CPR

YouTube - Continuous Chest Compression CPR - Mayo Clinic Presentation
  • Put one hand over the sternum.
  • Pump hard and fast, about 100 per minute.
  • No need to count compressions.
  • Don't stop until emergency medical services arrive.
  • If you stop pumping the chest for any reason, the patient's blood flow stops too.
---
  • When a person collapses, there is enough oxygen in the blood the keep the person alive for about 10 minutes.
  • Chest compressions build up pressure that keeps blood flowing to the heart and brain
