Land development in Bozeman - a Retrospective with Satellite Maps of 2018-2020 land development

An incredible amount of land has been developed between 2015 and 2020 in Bozeman, Montana. After living in Bozeman since 2005, I wanted to get a sense of just how much this city has changed through commercial and residential land development in the last several years.

As of this writing April 5, 2021, Google Maps currently has outdated satellite imagery of Bozeman, which allows us to take a view into the past to see what has been developed recently.

The large plot of land sitting across from Sidewinders and the Ferguson Farm business complex is still empty land (April 2021).

The corner of Babcock and Resort drives shows empty land on both sides of the street. On the east side of Resort drvie, a new housing development with single family homes was expanded around 2019-2020.

The entire block northwest of Fallon and Resort Dr has been turned into a massive apartment complex that includes a part on the north side.

In late 2020 and early 2021 the land on the west side of Babcock and Resort drive  was being developed and looks to be another apartment complex or condos.

Flanders Mill Development

Building began around 2017.

Ferguson and Sunstone pictured in 2015 became a neighborhood of single family homes.

All the grassland pictured below became the development. (Picture is located just north of Ferguson and Sunstone, facing south.)

Norton Ranch

Building on the first homes in the Babcock and Reliance area of Norton Ranch started sometime in 2015, according to this street view image.

A friend bought a brand new single family home here in 2017, back when homes were still affordable for families with household income over $60,000.

Developments upcoming on North 7th (purple) and North 19th ave green).

It appears that the purple development off north 7th will actually be a large park, unless the name of a subdivision has 'park' in the name.
